The Sigil Archive has Launched
May 6th, 2007 by Dave Lester
Welcome to The Sigil Archive. This website will become a repository dedicated to the former Second Life community of Sigil. As the first Western simulation on Second Life, Sigil was a virtual town set in the period 1860-1890 Arizona. Users who entered the town, becoming citizens, roleplayed as if they themselves were living in the American West during this time.
Sigil is a prospector’s town in Arizona that due to geography also became a route through which the express train towards the pacific and new US territory is bound. The resulting boom from local mining operations and the maintenance of the station has led to an era or prosperity and a place to begin an adventure in the Wild West Frontier. - (from Official Sigil Roleplay Guide)
The goal of this archive is to document a lost world, and make information regarding the history of Sigil freely available to those who wish to learn more about it. This site also has the potential to offer insight into the manifestations of cultural ideas within virtual worlds. All pictures and documents have been used with the permission of their owners.
